What will the ballot look like?
The May 3, 2025, ballot will ask residents to vote for or against Proposition A. It will read as follows:
Proposition A:
“THE ISSUANCE OF $480,000,000 OF BONDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, AND OPERATION OF MACADAMIZED, GRAVELED, OR PAVED ROADS OR TURNPIKES, OR IN AID THEREOF; AND THE LEVYING OF A TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON THE BONDS.”

Why should I vote YES?Montgomery County is growing rapidly, and the time is NOW to update our infrastructure. Voting for the Montgomery County 2025 Road Bond will invest $480 million in essential road improvements, enhancing mobility and safety across the county without increasing taxes.

Will passing the bond increase my taxes?Voting FOR Proposition A will have absolutely no impact on your taxes! Montgomery County estimates that the debt service tax rate will stay the same.

Why is the County holding bond elections?The Montgomery County Commissioners Court appointed a Citizens Bond Committee to assess the need for bond elections to fund critical road infrastructure improvements. After a thorough evaluation, the committee unanimously recommended calling an election for road projects totaling $480 million. The Commissioners Court determined that voters should have the final say on issuing the bonds and refined the proposal to focus solely on the essential road projects, with no increase in taxes. This election will allow voters to support investments in Montgomery County’s growing infrastructure needs.
